DPR - DP Revalidation

From 1st of January 2015 it became a requirement to revalidate a DP certificate issued by the Nautical Institute every 5 years. The conventional method was to show that you had accrued 150 days DP time within the preceding 5 years.
The DP Revalidation Course is a new option to revalidate if 150 DP days is not achieved during those 5 years, it could also be a relevant course to take if a DPO hasn’t been engaged in DP operations for some time and needs a update on working practices, DP system knowledge and latest rules and regulations. Whether that’s through a lack of operational desk time, or through working in a different role. This course will keep your DP certificate validated.

LEARNING OBJECTIVE

By the end of the course the participants shall:
• Have acquired knowledge of the latest rules and regulations
• Have acquired knowledge of the latest developments within sensors and Position Reference Systems (PRS)
• Have acquired knowledge of the latest relevant DP incidents and why they occurred
• Be able to recognize the various alarm, warning and information messages
• Carry out operational planning, risk assessment and hazard identification tasks
• Set up the DP system for a particular task/operation
• Decide on courses of action because of system failure
